Acrylic-modified grades extend this performance range, delivering benefits such as excellent adhesion to various substrates and further enhanced weather resistance.<\/p><p>A common feature of all MS polymers is that they crosslink via atmospheric moisture. After curing, the final products exhibit a Shore A hardness between 15 and 85, with tensile strengths even exceeding 12 MPa.<\/p><p>MS Polymer in pure form is free from any hazard labeling. The end products\u2019 formulations, i.e. compounded sealants or adhesives, are usually also free from such labeling requirements, depending on the selection of the other ingredients. MS Polymer-based products are well known for being free from isocyanates, solvents, and silicones. With these functionalized polyacrylates (X-<strong>M<\/strong>odified <strong>A<\/strong>crylic <strong>P<\/strong>olymer), the \u201cX\u201d stands for different reactive groups that can be crosslinked by atmospheric moisture or free radicals.<\/p><p>The latter offers the possibility of UV curing, thereby opening up fields of application that remain inaccessible to MS Polymers. Compared to MS Polymers, XMAP types are distinguished in particular by the following properties:<\/p><ul><li>Enhanced UV and weather stability (similar to silicone)<\/li><li>Temperature stability (continuous service temperature up to 150 \u00b0C)<\/li><li>Oil resistance (suitable for engine sealing)<\/li><\/ul><p>The reactive groups are solely positioned telechelically &#8211; that is, located at the chain ends. This results in significant differences compared to conventional acrylate polymers, which exhibit a random distribution of these groups. Furthermore, the living radical polymerization method used for XMAP polymers yields a very narrow molecular weight distribution with homogeneous properties.<\/p><p>You want to use UV technology or elevated temperatures for curing? You are looking for products with exceptional oil resistance? Then XMAP is the obvious choice! XMAP is suitable for applications in sectors such as the automotive and construction industries (including as a sealant for self-cleaning glass), the electronics industry (including battery technology), and marine applications &#8211; as well as anywhere where temperatures exceed 100\u00b0C.
